Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refund Policy
Scope and general terms
This policy covers every service and product booked or purchased through cheriblackwell.com: career coaching, private classes, certification prep, consulting engagements, corporate workshops, speaking, and digital products. It is offered by Miss Cheri Blackwell (“Cheri Blackwell,” “we”), and by booking or paying you agree to it.
How to cancel or reschedule: email hello@cheriblackwell.com with your name, service, and booking date. Requests count from the time we receive them.
How notice is measured: in hours or days before the scheduled start time, Eastern Time (ET).
Signed agreements come first: where a Statement of Work, speaking agreement, or government contract has its own cancellation or termination terms, those terms govern instead of this page.
Processing fees: payment processor fees are non-refundable and are deducted from any refund.
Digital products
Templates, playbooks, toolkits, and prompt packs are downloadable, so all sales are final. If a technical issue prevents you from downloading or accessing a product, contact us within 7 days at hello@cheriblackwell.com and we will resolve it.
Coaching, private classes and certification prep
One-on-one sessions can be moved free with 72 hours’ notice; group cohorts follow a separate schedule below.
1:1 coaching and private classes
| Notice before session | What happens |
|---|---|
| 72 hours or more | Free reschedule, or full refund of that session |
| 24 to 72 hours | One reschedule allowed per booking; no refund |
| Less than 24 hours | Session forfeited; no refund or reschedule |
| No-show (15 minutes after start) | Session forfeited and ends; no refund |
Packages: unused sessions are refundable within 7 days of purchase if none have been used. After the first session, packages are non-refundable. Sessions expire 90 days after purchase unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Running late: sessions end at the scheduled time; late arrival does not extend them.
Group cohorts and certification prep (PMP and similar)
| Notice before cohort start | What happens |
|---|---|
| 14 days or more | Full refund, less processing fees |
| 7 to 13 days | 50% refund, or a full credit toward a cohort in the next 6 months |
| Less than 7 days, or after start | No refund; one transfer to a cohort in the next 6 months |
Exam fees paid to third parties (such as PMI) follow that organization’s own refund rules. SAFe certification courses are delivered by Vanguard Consulting Partners under its own policy.
Consulting engagements
Consulting work (project recovery, PMO consulting, ERP transformation, fractional delivery leadership) can be ended by either party with 30 days’ written notice, unless the signed agreement says otherwise. Fees for services already rendered are non-refundable.
Discovery calls and strategy sessions: follow the 1:1 session rules above.
Fractional engagements: the current month is non-refundable. With 30 days’ notice, billing stops at the end of the notice period; work continues through it.
Fixed-scope projects: the deposit is non-refundable once work has started. On cancellation you pay for work completed and accepted to date, plus approved expenses already incurred.
On-site work: non-refundable travel booked for the engagement is billed at cost.
Deliverables: completed work product is released once all amounts due are paid.
Government clients: termination follows the contract’s own clauses, including any termination for convenience terms.
What “services already rendered” means
A service is rendered when a session or workshop has been held, when the time was forfeited under the notice rules above, or when work has been performed and delivered or made available to you. Fees for rendered services are earned and non-refundable. In practice:
- Sessions: sessions already held or forfeited are non-refundable, including those used from a package.
- Notice period: work performed through the end of a 30-day notice period is billable.
- Fractional engagements: the current month is earned when it begins; there is no pro-rated refund for a partial month.
- Fixed-scope projects: the deposit is earned once work starts, and you pay for work completed and accepted, plus approved expenses already incurred.
- Third-party and travel costs: amounts already paid to others on your behalf, and non-refundable travel booked for you, are billed at cost.
What remains refundable or credited. The rule above does not reach everything you have paid:
- Amounts prepaid for work not yet performed, beyond the totals described above, are refunded to the original payment method.
- A session cancelled with 72 hours’ notice or more is refunded in full or rescheduled free of charge.
- Unused package sessions are refundable within 7 days of purchase if none have been used.
- Cohort refunds and credits follow the schedule above.
- If Cheri Blackwell cancels, you receive a full refund or a priority reschedule, as described below.
Corporate training and workshops
A 50% deposit holds the date for corporate training and workshops, and it is non-refundable. The balance is due 14 days before the event.
| Request | What happens |
|---|---|
| Reschedule with 14 days or more notice | Honored at no charge |
| Reschedule with less than 14 days notice | Handled case by case, subject to availability |
| Cancellation, at any time | Deposit retained (50% of the fee). If you have paid in full, you receive a 50% refund; amounts paid beyond the deposit are refunded |
Speaking engagements
A 50% non-refundable deposit holds the date for keynotes, breakouts, and panels. The balance is due 14 days before the event. Where your speaking agreement says otherwise, the agreement governs.
| Notice before event | Amount owed |
|---|---|
| 90 days or more | Deposit retained (50% of fee) |
| 30 to 89 days | 75% of fee |
| Less than 30 days | 100% of fee |
Rescheduling: one date change within 12 months of the original date carries the deposit over, subject to availability. A second change is treated as a cancellation.
For speaking and corporate workshops
Switching to virtual: an in-person event may move to virtual delivery at the same fee, with at least 14 days’ notice.
Travel: non-refundable travel and lodging already booked is reimbursed at cost, in addition to the amounts above.
Recording and materials: custom content developed before cancellation remains the property of Cheri Blackwell.
If we cancel, emergencies, and refunds
If Cheri Blackwell cancels for any reason, you choose a full refund of amounts paid for the affected service or a priority reschedule.
Speaking cancellations on our side: we will also offer a qualified substitute speaker, used only with your approval.
Emergencies: documented medical or family emergencies are reviewed case by case; we will usually offer a one-time reschedule.
Events beyond anyone’s control: severe weather, natural disasters, government orders, or widespread outages release both parties from penalties. Payments made are credited toward a rescheduled date within 12 months.
Refund timing: approved refunds go to the original payment method within 10 business days.
Chargebacks: please contact us first. Filing a chargeback on a service delivered or forfeited under this policy may end future bookings.
Changes: we may update this policy; the version posted when you booked applies to that booking.
